FAQ's
BREATHE TUSCANY • WOMEN’S WELLNESS RETREATS • TUSCANY • ITALY
We know booking a retreat is a big decision. Here are answers to the questions we hear most, so you can feel confident before you join us. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for.
Why Tuscany
A Place That Already Knows How to Slow Down
Tuscany doesn’t need to be taught how to rest. Meals stretch for hours. Afternoons are meant for shade and conversation. The hills, the olive groves, the golden light — none of it is in a hurry, and neither will you be.
This isn’t a backdrop. It’s part of the medicine. When the pace of a place changes, something in you changes with it.
Is it safe to travel alone as a woman?
Yes. Many of our guests arrive solo, and it’s one of the most common reasons women choose this retreat, to feel supported and connected from the moment they land. Tuscany is a well-traveled, welcoming region, and our small group setting means you’ll meet the other women in your retreat quickly, often before you’ve even reached the farmhouse. You’re never navigating this alone.
What fitness level do I need?
Every movement session, from yoga to walks to breath work, is gentle and entirely optional. This retreat is built around rest, not performance. Whether you’d rather join in or simply relax by the pool while others take part, you’re welcome exactly as you are.
What should I pack?
Comfortable, breathable clothing for warm days and cooler evenings, a swimsuit for the pool, comfortable walking shoes for gentle countryside walks, and layers for the evenings. A more detailed packing list is sent to you once you book, tailored to the season of your retreat.
Do I need to bring a yoga mat or props?
No need to bring anything, mats and props are all provided. Of course, if you have a favourite mat or prop you love using, feel free to bring it along too!
What if I've never done yoga or meditation before?
No experience needed at all! Every session is gentle, adapted for all levels, and completely optional. Many of our guests arrive having never stepped on a yoga mat before, and that’s more than okay.
Can I book extra days or experiences?
Absolutely! If you’d love to extend your stay before or after the retreat, or add something extra like a day trip, a beauty treatment, or a private 1:1 wellness coaching session, just let us know and we’ll happily arrange it for you (for a small additional fee, subject to availability). Mention it when you book, or bring it up on your FaceTime call, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Will I know anyone else there?
Most of our guests arrive solo, and honestly, that’s often what makes connections happen even faster! With your pre-retreat group video call beforehand, you’ll likely already recognise a few friendly faces before you’ve even landed in Tuscany.
What happens after I enquire?
We’ll send you our booking form, along with our terms and conditions and a short health questionnaire, plus your payment details. We hold your place for 5 days while we wait for these and your deposit. Once we’ve received everything, your spot is officially booked!
And of course, if you need us in the meantime, just reach out we’re always happy to help.
What happens after I book?
Once you’ve booked, feel free to stay connected by following us on Instagram, Facebook, or our community pages! Closer to your retreat date, we’ll also host an optional (but warmly encouraged) group Zoom call, so you can meet the other women joining you before you even set foot in Tuscany.
What can I expect from the food, and can you handle dietary needs?
Our meals are made with fresh, local, seasonal Tuscan ingredients, and shared together as part of the retreat experience. We’re happy to accommodate most dietary preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free.
If you have more serious requirements like coeliac disease or significant food allergies, just reach out before booking so we can chat through whether we’re able to safely look after you.
Do I need a visa, and what travel documents should I bring?
Most nationalities (UK, EU, US, Canada, Australia) don’t currently need a visa for short stays in Italy, just a valid passport! There’s a new online travel authorisation system (called ETIAS) expected to roll out in Europe at some point, but as of now, nothing extra is required. We’d still recommend double-checking with your local Italian consulate closer to your travel dates, just in case anything changes.
What's not included in the price?
A few things aren’t included in the retreat price: flights, travel insurance, and any extra meals, drinks, or experiences beyond what’s listed in your itinerary.
What is your cancellation policy?
A €500 non-refundable deposit secures your place, with the remaining balance payable in two instalments, due in full 3 months before your arrival date.
If you need to cancel:
- 90+ days before your retreat: full refund of any balance paid (excluding the deposit)
- 60-89 days before: 50% refund of the balance
- Less than 30 days before: no refund on the balance
In all cases, your €500 deposit doesn’t need to be lost, it can instead be transferred to a future retreat date within 12 months, as long as you let us know before your original retreat date.
If we need to cancel:
In the rare event we have to cancel a retreat (for example, due to insufficient bookings or unforeseen circumstances), you’ll receive a full refund, including your deposit.
What if I have an early flight on the day of departure?
No problem at all just let us know your flight time in advance! We can organise a private drop-off for you (€80) to make sure you get to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Just mention it during your 1:1 call before the retreat, or drop us a message beforehand, and we'll take care of the rest.

Who are these retreats for?
Our retreats are designed for women, often at midlife or beyond, who are culturally curious, and looking for a bit of self-care or self-discovery. If that sounds like you, you're in the right place! Across all our retreats, we aim to offer the perfect balance of relaxation, enrichment, and genuine Italian experiences, all within a warm, supportive community.
We also happily arrange mixed-gender tours and private group tours upon request, so just get in touch if that's what you're after.
Looking for Something Different More Tailored?
Not quite what you're looking for? No problem we'd love to help you create something just as special.
We happily arrange mixed-gender tours and private group tours upon request, tailored exactly to you. Just get in touch, and let's start planning your perfect Tuscan experience.
I love the idea, but I’m not sure I can justify the cost.
We get it. It's hard to put a price on a truly transformational experience.
But picture this: a home filled with history and beauty, just six of you, and a chef, host, and locals who make you feel like family, not a guest. No hotel-hopping, no crowds, just space to breathe, connect, and actually switch off. You'll go home with memories, and so much more.
And getting there starts small, just €500 secures your spot, with a flexible payment plan available to spread the cost and make it more affordable if needed.
Are there laundry facilities at the retreat farmhouse?
Yes, the farmhouse is equipped with a washing machine for guests to do their laundry. There are typically no dryers in Italy, but it does have drying lines outside.
